Max Current

After reading a couple of forums, I am being really careful about the power supply to the CMUCAM3 ( Don't want to blow this puppy ) . I am using 4 AA battery that is supplying around 5.5 V right now ( just like Spoon Bot project ). Also, I am getting 1 A current, In the data sheet it says the minimum current should be 150 mA along with 6 V. Will I be alright by supplying 1 A current with 6 V ?

    4 AA batteries should be fine. A 6V and 1A power supply is also more than enough. Just don't connect it backwards. That is what causes most of the problems since there is no reverse voltage protection.
